thanks.
you posted earlier which allowed me
to buy it for $44 with free shipping.
obviously, the price has increased.
here's my opinion:
1. buy plain edge, not serrated.
2. loosen up the pocket clip just
a little, otherwise, it will tear
up your pocket opening.
3. practice drawing/using it....
just like everything else.

As I mentioned on an earlier post about this knife, I recently bought the same knife, but in serrated-edge. Wicked knife!

I had been considering removing material behind the clip, just as you mentioned, and warned not to do. However, since I can't afford multiple defensive knives, I actually WILL be carrying this in my nicer clothes, so I don't want to tear them up. Perhaps I'll go slowly, taking away just enough material to avoid tearing without giving up too much grip. I'll let you know how that goes.

Question, maybe I missed it if you addressed it: Which blade, plain or serrated, do you prefer?

The plain edge can be easily resharpened, but the serrated is like a shark's tooth, it grabs and dives into what's being cut. Serrated seems more likely to get through a leather coat sleeve or blue jeans if following the theory of cutting arms (that wield weapons) and legs (that move an adversary to "harm's length").
